Those could all work, except Karn Evil 9. It's pretty much all keyboard, and allowing Emerson onto the piano list would defeat the entire purpose of it, which is to showcase performances that may not be as technical.

Alright, no Karn Evil. How about Take a Pebble? Fantastic Piano work.

Maybe. I haven't listened to ELP in a while, but there's a good chance it'll be on there.

Also, should we have a keyboard solo list? I'd probably put Highway Star at #1, followed by Light My Fire.

Overall performances? I mean one for just individual solos.

Ahhh, I get you man.
If you do a keyboard solos list, Tarkus should have a couple of it's solos pretty high up.

No Roundabout, CttE or Tarkus for top 2 solo's? One of those two deserve top 2 solos, maybe Highway Star at 1, but I'd but it at 2 and Light My Fire at 3, with Roundabout at 1 and Tarkus or Karnevil at 4 (considering how much more famous Roundabout's solo is compared to CttE).

^ The Close to the Edge solo is far more satisfying, though. I remember the first time I heard it I literally dropped to the floor in awe.

As for the previous response about Karn Evil 9, I included it on the piano list because of the second movement... there is some pretty incredible piano work in there.

Close to the Edge's solo is better than Roundabout solo. But I still think Tarkus is better. Close to the Edge's solo make me think of Karn Evil 9 part 3.

Close to the Edge has the better solo, without a doubt, but I feel roundabout's is more popular and has more acclaim, however I'd prefer CttE, I just though this site does things for popularity since AoBTD is still #1 over Roundabout in bass when it's far less impressive and fails the criteria, but is more 'popular'. But yeah, I prefer the CttE solo.

Another On Bites The Dust? That's below Roundabout on the bass performances list...

My list would probably look like this:

1. Highway Star - Deep Purple (Jon Lord)
2. Light My Fire - The Doors (Ray Manzarek)
3. Roundabout - Yes (Rick Wakeman)
4. Siberian Khatru - Yes (Rick Wakeman)
5. Tarkus - Emerson, Lake, and Palmer (Keith Emerson)

I'd probably also put "Chameleon" by Herbie Hancock in the Top 10 for its influence on funk.
