That is not an argument. Dio is a band. Ronnie James Dio is a man. There's a difference.

You can't just write off entire genres as insignificant (especially when they're not; way to counter the power metal argument) when you have nothing to support yourself.

Duly noted. Seriously though, Holy Diver and Last In Line were huge albums, I know they at least beat Manowar in popularity. Surely?

Actually I'm not even sure what this criteria is, so nevermind my babbling...

Manowar were and still are a huge touring act. They also have one of if not the biggest following in all of metal, and all rock in general. You don't have all that without being hugely popular.

Considering that Dio released one album, I think he's very overrated.

You mean Holy Diver, Last In Line, Magica, Strange Highways, and Master Of The Moon were all one album?

I've honestly only ever heard of two of those albums.

A band is a band when it is the same members every time out. DIO (Appice, Bain, Campbell, and Dio) was a band for three albums. After that, DIO became a corporate logo.

So Iced Earth was a corporate logo after the first album? Neat.

No, a band has to be successful before they can become a corporate logo...
