I've always enjoyed that album, but I had a really great listen to it last night while working. The Ancient is still a bit of a chore to get through, but the last section makes it worth it.

Yes, The Ancient is quite a demanding listen. I find The Remembering to be awesome, even if it is overlong.

Revealing Science can't be beat though.

I remember noticing this years ago, but the CTTE theme gets quoted in Ritual, doesn't it?

It cames at about 4:22 when Howe is playing a solo with only Squire underneath him. It's basically the main theme of CTTE, I'm sure you'll recognise it.

Man, The Clap is such a great little ragtime-y acoustic piece. Probably my favorite track off The Yes Album, which is saying something because I like that album a lot.

Yessongs is an incredible live album, I just wish it was better recorded. :sad:

I really like Drama, and that didn't have Anderson. But Trevor Horn just happened to have a similar voice, he didn't actually try to imitate Jon. Like this dork does.

As far as I'm concerned, it's Jon (or Trevor) or GTFO.

Drama was alright, but I always felt like something was missing without Jon there... To me, a Yes album requires Jon, Chris, and Steve to really have the ideas flowing.

I assume you're still going to buy the album when it's released?

Ha, I haven't actually bought an album in like 5 years. Mainly once I started using the internet regularly and started using Soulseek.

But yeah, I liked Drama a lot. Horn and Geoff Downes brought an interesting change to the band while Howe, Squire and White kept it distinctively Yes. And overall a very successful union of pop and prog.

One bright side to Benoit joining the band is that they started peforming Tempus Fugit and Machine Messiah, the only reason they didn't before is because Jon didn't want to sing them. A shame because those are excellent songs.
