What makes Manowar a greater power metal band than Blind Guardian?

That's what I thought, aside from early Manowar their mid and late stuff hasn't been too influencial, whereas Blind Guardian have been pretty influencial both in their earlier speed/power and later more epic, orchestral power metal days. Not to mention popular as fuck.
brc seems to be the official Manowar spokesperson on this board so I'd like to hear his opinion on the matter.

Excluding certain songs, I don't really consider Manowar much of a power metal band (counting only their first six or so albums), so I won't oppose it.

I know last.fm can't be used as an accurate measure since it only accounts for internet fans, but it can still help give some idea about popularity:-

Manowar: 437,780 listeners
Blind Guardian: 475,600 listeners

Besides, Maddy only said that Blind Guardian were extremely popular, not "more popular than Manowar". Not that it matters, since Blind Guardian beat Manowar in influence anyway. Manowar are more important to metal as a whole (even influencing Bathory), but BG are more important to power metal.

The thing is both bands are incredibly popular outside of your typical Euro countries (Scandinavia, Germany, Netherlands, UK etc) and USA, but yes my main point was that BG are more important to power metal. Neither band have been straight-forward power metal their whole career but BG come closer.

Okay why is Nightwish below both Rhapsody and Sonata Arctica? They've had ridiculous popularity and critical acclaim recently. Also can I suggest Dragonland, Allen/Lande, Dark Moor, and Fairyland for the list?
