List looks good, I think. If we're going to do a Queen song, I would suggest White Queen.

.... and then there is Spanish Train ... Take care

There's a Spanish train that runs between
Gualdalquivir and old Saville
And at dead of night the whistle blows
And people hear she's running still

And then they hush their children back to sleep
Lock the doors, upstairs they creep
For it is said that the souls of the dead
Fill that train ten thousand deep

Well a railway man lay dying with his people by his side
His family were crying, knelt in prayer before he died
But above his bed just a waiting for the dead
Was the Devil with a twinkle in his eye
"Well God's not around and look what I've found
This one's mine"

Just then the Lord himself
Appeared in a blinding flash of light
And shouted at the Devil
"Get thee hence to endless night"
But the Devil just grinned and said
"I may have sinned
But there's no need to push me around
I got him first so you can do your worst
He's going underground"

"But I think I'll give you one more chance"
Said the Devil with a smile
"So throw away that stupid lance
It's really not your style"
"Joker is the name
Poker is the game
We'll play right here on this bed
And then we'll bet for the biggest stakes yet
The souls of the dead"

And I said "Look out, Lord, He's going to win
The sun is down and the night is riding in
That train is dead on time, many souls are on the line
Oh Lord, He's going to win"

Well the railway man he cut the cards
And he dealt them each a hand of five
And for the Lord he was praying hard
Or that train he'd have to drive
Well the Devil he had three aces and a king
And the Lord, he was running for a straight
He had the queen and the knave
And nine and ten of spades
All he needed was the eight

And then the Lord he called for one more card
But he drew the diamond eight
And the Devil said to the son of God
"I believe you've got it straight
So deal me one for the time has come
To see who'll be the king of this place
But as he spoke, from beneath his cloak
He slipped another ace

Ten thousand souls was the opening bid
And it soon went up to fifty-nine
But the Lord didn't see what the Devil did
And he said "that suits me fine"
"I'll raise you high to a hundred and five
And forever put an end to your sins"
But the Devil let out a mighty shout, "My hand wins"

And I said "Lord, oh Lord, you let him win
The sun is down and the night is riding in
That train is dead on time, many souls are on the line
Oh Lord, don't let him win"

Well that Spanish train still runs between
Gualdalquivir and old Saville
And at the dead of night the whistle blows
And people fear she's running still
And far away in some recess
The Lord and the Devil are now playing chess
The Devil still cheats and wins more souls
And as for the Lord, well, he's just doing his best

And I said "Lord, oh Lord, you've got to win
The sun is down and the night is riding in
That train is still on time, Oh my soul is on the line
Oh Lord, you've got to win"

...and for something completely different some 1971`s rap from Deep Purple - No One Came ... Take care

Maybe it's because I'm only starting
That I think it won't take too long
Maybe it's because I can see you laughing
That I think you've got it wrong
Maybe I could be like Robin Hood
Like an outlaw dressed all in green
Someone said what's he gonna turn out like
And someone else said never mind
Well I was big and bold and more than twice as old
As all the cats I'd ever seen
I grew my hair and bought a suit
Of shiny white or was it cream
I shook and shivered danced and quivered
And stood on a mountain top
No one came from miles around and said
Man your music is really hot

Well I knew what they meant because I was a freak
My throat was tired and worn
My pretty face just looked out of place
As they poured on the scorn
I wrote on yellow paper from a man who was the king
He said my boy we'll have some crazy scenes
There weren't any scenes at all like he was talkin' about
He must've been the king of queens
Well I could write a million songs about the things I've done
But I could never sing them so they'd never get sung
There's a law for the rich and one for the poor and there's another one for sing

It's die young and live much longer
Spend your money and sit and wonder
No one came for miles around
And said man your music is really funky

I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star
Nobody knows who's real and who's fakin'
Everyone's shouting out loud
It's only the glitter and shine that gets through
Where's my Robin Hood outfit
Well I've come and I've gone before you wink an eye
No one ever cared enought to say goodbye
The money's good and the time you have
Fun and games galore
But you spend your money and lie in bed forgotten
And you wonder what you did it for
No one came from miles around
And said man who's he?

INNUENDO. By far and away their greatest lyrical achievement.

He's not the greatest rapper of all time. And even if he was, that wouldn't automatically make one of his songs #1 here.

No, but looking at the list does.

Eminem is one of the greatest rappers, but he didn't come up with any of those techniques.

He's in and around there. I'll say top 15 without question, with a very good shout at top 10. But who the hell knows.

Pink Floyd's "Dogs" deserves a mention here.

This is one case where you're 100% right.

Imo, Dogs is Waters' greatest performance. I love Time, but it just doesnt have that same kind of 'epic' narrative vibe, if that makes any sense...

Dogs is incredible.

This thing might also be worthy of being included in the top 200.

"5:15" easily qualifies as Townshend's best lyrical performance.
