This has been making me laugh a little, but also a bit offended. Rhythm must be horrible though...

71. Tommy Lee
72. Shiela E (Prince)
73. Lars Ulrich
74. Benante (Anthrax)
75. Weckl

Apparently he's greater than Lombardo and Harrison too

Williams is like 30s and Vinnie is 60s

It's funny I went in and expected just an abortion of a list based on your comments and...was pleasantly surprised that a lot of semi obscure and jazz guys were really rated there! Gotta respect the list for that, if nothing else. I'm wondering if some of the guys on that list could make it on to some of OUR lists...

Ok ok I might be crazy but here, my unofficial top 20 most creative rock drummers, in no order:

Bruford, Moon, Baker, Peart, Bonzo, Starr, Paice, Menza, Samuelson, Beauford, Carey, Portnoy, Lombardo, Palmer, Watts, Giles, Chamberlin, Cameron, Mason, Collins

Okay, so that's off the top of my head, lol (and it's not like I know everyone in rock!). Thoughts?

I like seeing Giles, Peart and Cameron there.

But Menza? Surely a beast of a drummer but I wouldn't consider him 'unique' in any regard.
The guy is sick though, probably better than Samuelson.

Thanks  so happy someone else here 'gets' Giles! Spread the word

Honestly I often undersell Peart when I argue on this forum. He's amazing and extremely creative and distinctive. Let the record show I came out and admitted this, lol

Naw man Menza's amazing! I'm a metalhead through and through and he's one of the FEW truly brilliant drummers in metal I'm aware of (along with, shit, Samuelson, Lombardo, Dailor, Portnoy, Carey if he counts as metal, and....uhh....). His style is all subtlety, swing and finesse tho, I underrated him for a long time too. Actually I think it might be very apt to consider him a metal Ginger Baker basically (minus the showmanship and soloing/improv)

I'm sure quite a few of them could, the ordering all seemed incredibly random though. And it's nice that Joey and Travis were at the BACK of the list... because i've seen some where they are considered top 10  so yeah it could have been a lot worse

reflections is still the best drum beat ever made, so extremely tasteful. when he gets that hi hat clicking at around 1 min, OMG..... and just one of the greatest songs ever possible, with some of my favorite lyrics as well....

Great beat, and some good playing toward the end, but as a whole I found it kinda boring, tbh.
Just me though.

Didn't even have a fraction of the affect Ticks And Leeches had on me.

subtlety is not your strongest fortitude Mr. Creep  . also, ticks and leeches is in a league in itself. Reflection isnt supposed to be a drum-a-thon, its the restraint he shows in the song thats brilliant.

youd probably like something like Vicarious....

I LOVE subtlety most of the time, but hey there are always exceptions.

I shall definitely check out Vicarious then.
