6.5 is pretty brutal, I'd give that Tony video like a 9 considering his age... He had a lot of ideas. Just secondary input tho.

That Palmer video was pretty nice too

Yeah I meant 6.5 in regards to my personal taste for it.

For pure technique, yeah I'd give it an 8 or a 9.

Glad you liked Rooster, check out the other tracks!

thats a fucking awesome beat, clearly influenced by Afro-Cuban beats, which he's tried to get there, to great effect. Id rate that an 8/10 , works great for the song.

Mark 1 of Deep Purple had some spectacular stuff, imo. So many hidden gems to be found.

There was a time when I had an unhealthy obssession with that album.

That's actually quite impressive, if the whole song was as strong as the beginning I could see myself giving it a 9... That being said it's more of a 7.5

What the fuck kind of drums is he using to get that sound?
Is he using congas or bongos or something? Hard to tell.

Aside from all the misc percussion, all he's doing is straight paradiddles on two toms.

And stroke rolls over alternate percussion, nobody said it was all that technical. Neg you should look up bug juice by grip Inc when you get the chance, you'll hear a lot of similarities once the solo itself is over. And it's also Daves best work, besides being more different than slayer than most anything he's done. Id post it myself but I'm on my phone and embedding is sort of a pain

I have no hesitation giving it a 9.

Loved the unique style of music too. Much better than the annoying double-bass wankery with Slayer.
Awesome shit!

That's my friend Zach, Zhaseneiman,
He's a big fan of it. It probably is Lombardo's best.
