So...26-30?

I think we're still working on 21-25, unless we've all already agreed, and so far it's only been you and me.

What do we have again?
21. Garibaldi
22. Mitchell
23. Powell
24. Dunbar
25. Shrieve

? Dunbar may take Powell, not sure, he takes skill and probably creativity. Originality as well. Powell gets influence, have no clue about innovation for either. Versatility Dunbar, he's done everything

Also what you might not know about Dunbar, he was asked by Jimmy Page to from Led Zeppelin as the original drummer but turned it down. He was later asked to start King Crimson after Giles, Giles & Fripp broke up, and turned that down. Jimmy Hendrix chose between him and Mitch Mitchell by a coin flip.

That's definitely impressive.
Now I just need to find some of his actual playing, to see what the fuss is about.

He's certainly got a brain the size of a pea to turn all that down

Some guys don't like being tied down to just one band though.

I've actually found it to be obscenely difficult to locate material with Aynsley. The guy is acclaimed as hell but I can't name a single thing he's been on.

Good luck finding much live material either, the man really, really likes to lay low, and you can see in his bio he's laying lower than ever recently, but he is that good.

Holy SHIT at the resume of artists that he's played with.
Seriously. That is an incredibly diverse group.

Pretty cool. I think I would agree with calling Lombardo the "godfather of double bass".

What about 26-30? Will Roger Taylor stay in the top 30?

Nicko McBrain is another good name for the top 30.

I really dont think Taylor is top 30, myself. Probably top 40 though. I just cant see any huge amount of influence or originality or innovation.

Glad you mentioned Nicko, I wondered before if he could make top 30 here.

Well, we'll be seeing how it goes. Once I round out the top 30, we'll see who fits. Taylor and McBrain would be at the very end if they remain, though I'm thinking of moving Collins and Jackson up.
