Question: If this were JUST ranked on technical skill where would Bruford place? He's my fav so I'm curious

1 - Vinnie Colaiuta
2 - Dave Weckl
3 - Steve Gadd
4 - Billy Cobham
5 - Buddy Rich
6 - Terry Bozzio
7 - Bill Bruford

I think Bruford being at 7th is a very good position. Also, the criteria is Skill, Uniqueness and versatility. Using the criteria, Colaiuta, Weckl, Gadd, Cobham, Rich and Bozzio beat Bruford.

...what I was asking is if the criteria were just skill (take out uniqueness and versatility). Pure physical chops. I'm thinking more a pure chops list

Edit: And I'm rather happy with B's place on this actual list

Oh, well then Bruford might be a a spot or two higher, but he wouldn't be in the Top 4.

If we only used the skill criterion, I think Bruford may actually be lowered a couple spots. His versatility gives him an edge over a few drummers that have more raw skill.

When compared to some of the other guys on this list (and considering that we're missing some good people), I don't think he could go any higher.

Any chance Ulrich makes this list? (lol). I hear his AJFA stuff is pretty difficult.

Gar Samuelson should make the list I reckon...listen to Megadeth's first album (and specifically that one)

Alan White!

EDIT: I see White's already on there

So Ginger Baker shouldn't be on this list, but Lars Ulrich should?
