Good good good. This list is the good one. The other list on the old list had Dance of Eternity as #1. That's bullshit. YYZ belongs at #1.

I would say put My Generation in the top ten, but all of the performances in the top ten belong there.

Is NIB supposed to include the bass solo? Because that's actually a seperate intro called Bassically. A fine bass solo but the rest of NIB is not that interesting really.

Most if not all compilations include Bassically as part of NIB, without listing it as such. That's probably where the confusion comes from.

Bassically is a part of NIB. This same argument happened on the old forum.

Not sure if it's eligible, but Steve "Thundercat" Bruner's performance on Flying Lotus's "Pickled" is just insane. It's not sampled, and it's actually played, so I don't see why it should be excluded.

Interesting. He sounds like he's Jaco influenced.

You're funny.

But yeah, this list could use more Jamerson performances. But then again, it's very hard to just pick one or two tracks from such an awesome career.

No, it sounds awful.
Whoever recorded that bass should be fired, immediately. (not the bassist, the engineer or producer.)

And, absolutely... Personally, i think thats one of his best.

Yeah I guess. And Flying Lotus did all the production work himself. The track is mixed like that because it's not really a bass solo as much as it is various sounds with bass accompaniment. But anyway, I thought you meant Bruner sounded bad.

Flying Lotus also happens to be Coltrane's nephew oddly enough...

I think Frank Zappa's "Valley Girl" should be on this list.

Scott Thunes was an underrated bass player.
