Have you played the original NES game that was localized for the US and then went unreleased? Its floating around on a couple ROM sites and forums now. Totally worth a go if you loved the SNES game.

Nah I haven't played Mother yet. Oddly enough, I'm going in reverse order. Started with 3 and adored it and now I'm playing Earthbound on my modded Wii with a SNES controller. I bought an adapter for it.

And I hear the translation of the first Mother game is terrible. I'll probably end up playing Tomato's translation.

The guy at 3D Games was telling me earlier today that they a copy of Earthbound that went for nearly $200 :geek:

Just finished Portal. What a fantastic game. Wish it was longer though, but I don't think it could be extended without affecting the perfect story. Can't wait till 2 or 3 years from now to play Portal 2. I'm always 5-6 years behind cause my PC sucks..

Absolutely fantastically game! I got my moneys worth on that one. I don't understand why you have to wait 5-6 years for the second one. Isn't it out?

Work and drinking has been kicking my ass, but I've managed to get a few hours down in Star Wars: The Old Republic. So far it's looking awesome and I can't wait for christmas to really set in.

Considering the fact that Nintendo really seems to love fucking over American gamers on the Mother series, that price will continue to go up.

Well if that new Kid Icarus game is a success (and looking at Nintendo Power's preview, it does look AWESOME) then hopefully Nintendo will revive more of their neglected franchises. And the Mother series is obviously the one Nintendo fans most want to see make a return.

One reason there's only been 3 games in the series however is because the creator of the series Shigesato Itoi isn't really that involved with the video game industry, the Mother games are just something he does on the side. It's not really up to Nintendo to make more games in the series.

Here's a nerdy fact. Did you know that Itoi is also the voice of Mei and Satsuki's father in the original version of My Neighbor Totoro? :ugeek:

Funny this should be mentioned, I got a place in town that has it for $95 and I might pick it up today with my birthday money if they still have it.
