I have mixed opinions about this one, it was a nice idea. But the execution could have been better.

Also I'm baffled by some of AVGN's references. North & South a terrible game? C'mon. And McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure is an AWESOME game. No seriously it is.

He's pretty funny. Shame about the kind of games he reviews though.

Ninja Gaiden

I got really far in this game, but never beat it. It's true that you have unlimited continues, but the part that I got stuck at was impossible without magic. Run out of magic and you cannot continue. Just die. Again and again and again.

Yeah it's fun to see him review good games every now and then, and actually acknowledge that they're good games even if they are balls punchingly hard, instead of taking the Irate Gamer route of bashing every game he sucks at, which in that guy's case pretty much includes every game ever.

I hate that fat cunt so fucking much.

Zelda II

OMG, I never beat shadow Link. I tried again and again and again. And then, when I got to him for the umpteenth time, my kid brother was like, "Let me try." And I'm like, "Sure, take a whack at it." And then he beats him. And the whole fucking game resets. Your save is rewritten. You have to start over from the very beginning of the game. I think my primal roar of "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!" could have been heard on Pluto.

That made my day.

the Irate Gamer seems to have some sort of vendetta against AVGN, The Nostalgia Critic, the other That Guy with the Glasses reviewers and the fanbases for all of those people. Because they're more popular or something?

However, my main problem with the Irate Gamer is that he almost never researches anything. Its not like he'd have to compromise one of his "jokes" for doing so, either.

Amazingly, some diehard IG fans (yes, they do exist) actually accuse James of being the ripoff, the only "evidence" they have for their argument is that IG reviewed Indiana and the Temple of Doom before he did. As if IG has exclusive rights to the games he "reviews". Never mind all the times IG reviewed a game that AVGN already did.

But yeah, he's horrible in every way.

-His whole structure is sloppy and nonexistant.
-Never makes good or insightful criticisms.
-Contradicts himself constantly.
-His jokes are terrible, his delivery is even worse.
-He has a habit of stuffing in horrible skits that have NOTHING to do with the game in question, as opposed to the Nerd whose skits tie into the game at least.
-His prose is just fucking awful and uses words in a way that are comically redundant.
-Has a tendency to state the stupidly obvious.
-While at the same time fucking up even the most common video game knowledge.
-And other times flat out LIES about stuff just for the sake of his bad jokes.
-Sucks at EVERY game ever.
-Sucks at hiding the way he dies on purpose, and how he cheats all the time using game genie.
-Has such a putrid misunderstanding of what makes a game bad and has bashed a lot of good games for the stupidest and most insubstantial reasons.
-I'm convinced that he doesn't really like video games at all.
-Just look at the guy, he's a douche.

One time even his fans called bullshit after he criticized Kirby's Epic Yarn for being easy, when bitching about games that pose even the slightest challenge is his whole lame ass shtick. There's also that time when he was a total douche to that Sega representitive at E3 and it was totally uncalled for.
