I usually approach fighting games the same way, I don't really have mains because I like to learn how to use each character.

That being said. I'm best with Chun Li, Cammy, Blanka and Ken.

Oh shit, that's Mortal Kombat, the much better fighting game. My mistake.

I like The Mortal Kombat games, but the big drawl in those games was the presentation. Street Fighter II had great presentation too, but also gameplay that's aged a lot better.

Also MK was harder to figure out, granted it was very rewarding when you got the hang of it, but SFII was accessible from the very beginning, anyone can play it and have fun with it even if they're not terribly good at it.

The older MK games are kickass, but there are definitely better fighting games, not only is SFII superior, but most Capcom fighting games in general, and the SNK fighters too.

Oh man, I wanted to post this really bad SF1 concept art of Ryu from the SF art book where he's doing a flying kick and his anatomy is really bad and body proportions are way off and awful. It looks like something from one of the classic Megaman cover arts. I can't find it though.

Vega. More from an aesthetic standpoint than a gameplay one. I'm not much of a player of fighting games.

Guile because I thought his sonic boom was much easier then the Hadouken. I haven't played this game much, though, it's really fucking awesome.

A sociopath with unusally high (perhaps not in this decade...) regards of himself, his face specifically? He's a cool character, though.

I chose Ken/Ryu, though I believe they should've been kept separately, at least if we're considering the original installment and we're chosing players based on how well we play them, cause the boss characters weren't playable there. SFII was the first fighter I played and Ken was the guy I singled out as the "coolest" since he had badass karate and a more laid back style. Still my personal favourite, although not to the same extent as back then.

Ken, Chun-li, Saget, and Akuma. Didn't know we could have this many options in a poll. Also, yeah SF > MK, not even close. SF3 might be one of the most balanced fighting games ive ever played. so good.

I was pretty good with Dhalism and E. Honda. Zangief and Blanka to a lesser extent, although I mostly relied on his easy-to-do electricity move (E. Honda's slap thing was kind of the same way, but I found it slightly more effective).

But i'll go with Dhalism.

Didnt have enough room, I could have removed T Hawk but I wanted to have the whole SSFII roster up there. Besides everyone would have voted for Akuma because he's so fucking powerful.
