Thanks, we'll see. I think it'd be great for threads that don't get a lot of play.

I'll repost this here:

So no NASCAR/formula one thread (that I could find)...did you guys see what happened last night with tony stewart. I'd post a link to the video, though I won't because ward jr. died, or appeared to die on impact, and I don't really feel like posting a morbid video on the site....but you can find it on deadspin and YouTube.

I don't think stewart did on purpose, I think he meant to fuck with the guy and killed him. Not sure what he was thinking...also not sure what ward jr. was thinking by running head on into traffic on a racetrack, since his only goal was to run and tough talk stewart who clearly wasn't going to get out of his car....super sad, awful...but I can't I'm surprised that someone ended up dead when two rednecks wanted to act like dumbasses by doing some dumbass macho redneck horseshit on a racetrack.

Nah, it's a fine thread. There'll be plenty of small topics over the years.

what would you guys say are your strongest DDD/Team associations?

for example, I can't see something on ESPN about the 76ers without wondering about PGM's reaction.
Or if there's a Blazers/Mavs game, one of my first thoughts is "It's on, Corrections."

Probably San Tropez and Kosher with the Lions, just because of the rivalry with the Bears and because I've always talked shit about how much the Lions suck, and now the tables are turned. Bones with the Raiders sticks out too, because no one represents the peaks and valleys of being a fan on DDD as much as him in the NFL thread. Beyond that it's usually DDD fantasy football league associations during the season. Also certain rivalries very occasionally make me think of posters, but only when the two teams are playing each other. Pgm/Eagles vs. Crx/Cowboys, you/Isaac/John17 with 49ers/Seahawks, and Bones/Joe C with Chiefs/Raiders.

I don't post in the other threads enough to have very strong associations, but when there's some story about Lebron I occasionally wonder what Pave would have to say about it.

Feel free to send it to me to find out.

I should say that I'm not a bigger Sixers fan than the rest of Philly's teams, but I find this experiment to be more interesting. It's model tends to be vastly oversimplified (tanking) or even slightly oversimplified (tanking and a reliance on analytics). It can be described as a feticization of all things sports science--an attempt to be as cutting edge as possible--in combination with tanking. They poached Portland's analytics guy, San Antonio's developmental coach, and borrow fitness regiments from the Eagles. If it works, that's what'll be copied, not necessarily the tanking.

If Bones talks as much about the Raiders than he does Liverpool then that.

Liverpool >>> Raiders >> Mets.

I guarantee there will be more Mets talk this year.

boxing is built for this level of hype. However I can't recall a fight so hyped in my lifetime. Feels like a throwback to the olden days.
