Yeah it's jabbing someone with the backend of stick (as opposed to the blade which would be spearing).

Yeah, it's when you ram somebody with the square-end of the stick closest to your hands. Now that you've had it explained 3 times, hopefully it makes sense, cause I don't think Nesquik made it clear enough for you.

Daniel Alfredsson's 1,000 points is a pretty impressive milestone considering he has done it with just one team and with one of the modern era franchises.

Just for reference, the other leading scorers from modern era franchises:

Teemu Selanne, Anaheim, 791 (start of the season)
Ilya Kovalchuk, Atlanta, 615
Rick Nash, Columbus, 422 (start of the season)
Olli Jokinen, Florida, 419
Marian Gaborik, Minnesota, 437
David Legwand, Nashville, 407 (start of the season)
Patrick Marleau, San Jose, 693 (start of the season)
Vincent Lecavalier, Tampa Bay, 739 (start of the season)

Yeah I got it now

Upon reading Nesquik's post I at first thought of Spearing, but then figured that he was talking about the other end of the stick.

Also, the Devils need to fire Lou Lamiorello (or however the hell you spell it). His team has the largest salary cap in the entire league and yet is in dead last in the east. And most of his players are way overpayed (Zubrus, Kovalchuk, Langenbrunner, Elias, and Rolston mainly). He's managed the team so poorly the last 5 years.

I think MacLean would already be on a short leash.

As for the salaries, I think Langenbrunner is a bargain at $2,800,000. Rolston (especially), Elias and Zubrus are all overpaid, though.

Kings are playing well this year, hope they can keep it up.

Yeah nevermind, I thought Langenbrunner was the one making $4,500,000, but that's Arnott.

Looks like the Northwest is up for grabs at the moment.

If I had to pick the top 5 out of that list. Belfour is a mortal lock. not sure about the rest.

Out of those I'd pick:

Dave Andreychuk
Ed Belfour
Phil Housley
Alexander Mogilny
Pavel Bure

Need some Russians in there. I'd hope Barrasso would make it, but I don't think he would this year.

Nah he'll take a couple. I'd take Mogilny over Bure. Bure was pretty damn inconsistent (although he played with some awful teams). Mogilny was pretty awesome.

I don't think Bure was inconsistent. Considering he never scored more than 60 goals in a season, only Bossy, Lemieux and Ovechkin have higher career goals per game. In almost 300 less games than AlMo he only scored 36 less goals.

Alex the Great slumped towards the end of his career though. And I agree that Bure was consistent, he just had tons of injuries but he always seemed to be at the top of his game, despite playing for shitty teams like the Panthers.

Mogilny was also bothered by injuries. Besides, if the likes of Cam Neely and Pat LaFontaine can get in, it's quite clear that players aren't being overly penalized for having injury shortened careers. The has 5 50 goals seasons, a Calder Trophy, 400+ career goals, a career GPG over .6 and let's not forget that he was one of the most explosive talents the league has ever seen.
