Anybody else been watching the World Championship?

How awesome was the opening frame of the Ronnie O'Sullvian vs Shaun Murphy match?

I've been watching - hopping between tables and only saw the tail end of that O'Sullivan frame. What went on? Anyway he's looking pretty good at the moment. I hope he and Mark Williams play in the next round.

It was just an epic tactical battle. Lasted about 20 minutes.

Yeah, a Williams vs O'Sullivan match in the next round would be great!

This Rory McLeod has to be the most boring snooker player in years but I find him cueing through his beard endlessly fascinating, so swings and roundabouts I suppose.

Snooker is a game of cheap thrills and manufactured excitement. Don't even get me started on pool...the boy band of cue sports. Billiards is the true game and the greatest test of skill.

The final frame of the session in that Hendry vs Selby match was awesome. Hendry was 48 ahead with 35 remaining, but Selby ended up winning!

Selby also broke the record for the most century breaks in a 25-frame match at the Crucible and has equaled the record for the most century breaks in a season! Would love to see him win it (purely because he has good tast in football teams. :irish: )

I don't particularly like Selby.

Most people don't seem to. Seems to be one of those sportsmen who is just seems to get hated by everyone for some really flimsy reasons (like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lance Armstrong).

Really? I didn't know Selby was widely disliked. I just took against him quite quickly - nothing more scientific than that really and I'm quite happy to say it's pretty much an irrational dislike. Ronaldo, I disliked when he played for Man United, now I like him rather a lot. Armstrong, I've no interest whatsoever in cycling so don't have an opinion on Armstrong the sportsman but I think you can't help but admire his resilience re his health troubles.

Who do people prefer between Higgins and O'Sullivan? I was watching them play earlier and it's been extremely close.

O'Sullivan's probably my favourite player left in the tournament with Mark Williams a very close second. I don't mind Higgins. As to who's gonna win that match I'm really not sure. O'Sullivan's been looking uncharacteristically composed when going behind already in the match, so hopefully he'll run Higgins close. Then the winner should play Mark Williams as he's 11-5 up in his match. Other side of the draw Trump looks to be close to beating Dott and then Ding-Selby is close and in the early stages at the moment.
