Finally got my first runs of the season on Saturday.

Missed the first 2 games of the season, then

3rd game - got 0 n.o., came in for the last over down the bowler's end and didn't face a ball

4th game - got 0, 3rd ball duck, but the worst wicket I have ever played on by a mile, to give you an example, we bowled the opposition out for 45.

5th game - got 6(!). Though I was quite happy with this as I survived 16 overs and it was a very defensive job as we couldn't win and were playing for the winning draw. Their bowlers were getting frustrated and deliberatly trying to bowl short and hostile at me. Isn't there something so intensly satisfying about just keeping the opposition bowlers at bay to the point when they get really pissed off and riled up? I eventually got out trying to play a ball I should've just kept out as I was trying to rotate the strike as our last man in was up the other end.

Away to the best team in the league next weekend. We are currently 4th: Played:5, Won:2, Lost:2, Losng Draw:1. We have possibly the best bowling attack in the league, but our batting line-up is one of the worst. Would be more than happy with a mid-tab;e finish after a bottom of the table without a single victory performance last season.

i heard about it and then saw an article, his comments were just him making a joke and taking the piss as a topic, no big deal really, i would like to see him face up to brett lee or shaun tait though, and wear no helmet , because you know.. its worn for no real reason

Nick doesnt care much about ODIs, I think he's the least interested in it after rv. Also, the fact I've been watching pak-lanka and not even knowing how the ODI series was going shows how much I too am becoming indifferent towards it. I like the idea of T20s and tests only, one for the entertainment, one for the cricket.

I'll do it in lieu !!

Great performances in all areas (except catching). Shame about the rained off game. If we had won that as well, then England would be ranked No 1 in all (Test, ODI and T20) forms of cricket.

Especially happy for Bopara who has had a pretty rough time. but he made consistent runs and chipped in with decent wickets. Also Steve Finn looked very impressive.

All done without KDP (Kevin Dipshit Pietersen) and also looked at 3 or 4 2nd string bowlers (Dembach, Patel, Tredwell) as well.

Bodes well - I think in English conditions, we have 3 extremely competitve sides - Bring on the Boks for a real test !!!
