I wish I could rant about the Phillies, but unfortunately watching a game by hitting "refresh" when the teacher isn't looking doesn't provide me with enough details.

The Giants have had amazing pitching for about a month and the Phillies bats have not been healthy enough all season to find a rhythm. I don't understand why Jimmy is batting 6th as he is much better on the basepaths than Shane, but I can't actually see the games. But I'm hoping our big three can pull out the next three. If not, well, I still love my team. I'll probably just get drunk.

Looks like it's gonna be Rangers in 6. I had a feeling they wouldn't have been able to close it out last night. In this series at least Sabathia is reminiscent of 2004 Curt Schilling, minus the overblown bloody-sock stuff.

Whoa. It's so weird reading "big-bucks teams" and Philies in the same sentence. After a decade and a half of watching the front office chronically underspend, it's nice to see ownership that actually cares about winning.

Although, it's not like we are going out and buying the best free agents. This has mostly been trades and giving raises to the players who were already here. To compare the Phillies to the Yankees seems kind of wrong.

I wouldn't say he was like 2004 Schilling. His game 5 was the most hits I've seen someone give up allowing only 2 runs. His Whip was near 2. That's not good pitching that's lucky pitching.

This Yanks team has more than a few free agents but also a lot of homegrown talent. Pettite, Rivera, Jeter, and Posada are lifers. Cano and Phil Hughes are home grown. I don't think it's that big of a stretch. Especially if we want to compare it to the Yanks when they were great where it was mostly homegrown talent.
