Well I'm sure Lincecum's FIP has comforted you over his recent 1-9 stretch (which means 27% of Giants losses have come from Lincecum over his last 10 starts).

pwned. I can't top that.

I'm hoping Latos uses his recent complete game as a spring board for the rest of the season. He's been decidedly disappointing so far.

Colby Lewis on the 15 day DL. Shouldn't be one for much longer than 15 but that's 60% of the starting rotation on the DL. Good thing Harrison and Darvish have been dealing and we have Oswalt now. Hope we let another minor leaguer take the starts rather than Feldman. Just can't take it anymore.

Kind of disappointed to find out Bronson Arroyo lost control with three outs to go on his no-hitter. A hollow victory really.

Also, found out during tonight's game that two Sox pitchers threw no-hitters a month apart in '62. Still won't top Vander Meer, but wow, I thought I was lucky to see a relative bounty of them in the past decade or so.

I didn't feel it was hollow. A series win over a division rival is always valuable.

I've been ignoring Rickie Weeks on my fantasy bench for months -- just checked his stats and it is really amazing just how awful he's been this year. He's hovering around the bottom 10% of qualified batters in wOBA (0.285)...and that's with a 13.8% walk rate.

edit: aaaaaand of course, in his first at bat after I post this, he smacks a 2 run homer

hes been incredibly bad this year but i acually just picked him up on my fantasy team. hes been coming around a little lately hitting .283 in his last 15. doesnt seem too great but its 100 points higher than his year up to this point. i probably will only play him in favorable matchups in my util spot or when brandon phillips isnt playing.

also, ive been riddled with bad injuries at bad times on my team. i have tulo out basically for the year and now c.c. sabathia just landed on the d.l. and hes my best pitcher (could make a case gio gonzalez is better).

It has a little, and given how good he was today (and in innings 2-7 last time) it seems like it might have been suggestive.

I should also note that either Matt Kemp is better than Willie Mays and Hank Aaron put together, or else the Dodgers had no business sitting at the top of the National League. This was practically a AAA team the Giants shutout-swept this week, and if Ethier joins Kemp on the DL (left the game early today) it might be the worst lineup in baseball. Enjoy 3rd place assholes.

Looking forward to the Reds series (I'll be going on Friday). Probables: Bumgarner/Cueto, Cain/Leake, Zito/Latos and Vogelsong/Arroyo. Games 1 and 3 look like very fair fights pitching-wise. Fuck Mat Latos.

Have to agree here. That lineup is simply downright terrible without Kemp and Ethier, maybe even just without Kemp. There's some strangely good OBPs throughout, though.

Well Ellis is actually quite good, if maybe not this good. But Abreu gives all his production back on defense (dude looks paunchier than my dad at this point) and I don't think there's any reason to believe Hairston is going to keep having the best year of his career at age 36. The rest are complete scrubs. Without Kemp and Ethier they have one good player out of 8.

You mean AJ Ellis of the .373 BABIP? That's what I'm talking about. I don't understand how he gets on base so much with a high strikeout rate and no power. Doesn't make sense.

If you meant Mark Ellis well at least he doesn't strike out a lot.

Rangers bullpen almost pulled the same last night but they've at least got Nathan (also they trotted out a 21 year old lefty who might be a little young for this. He looked dominant against lefties but couldn't find the zone against righties. Also some really bad luck on balls just finding holes).

But yeah if your bullpen was average you'd lead the division.

I meant AJ Ellis, who appears to be a good catcher and clearly knows how to get on base. His .271/.392/.376 line from 2011, against a .313 BABIP, is probably where he belongs. That's not an all-star, but it's a good player - and easily the best on the team if Kemp and Ethier are sidelined.
