In his defense Mancini is just using Balotelli as a scapegoat, due to his shortcomings as a coach. It's not Balotelli's fault that Man City may very well lose the title.

Poor from Spurs, our squad has proven itself not to be good enough in terms of depth as out first XI has tired towards the end of the season there has been no quality to draft in from the sidelines. We need a couple of new centre halves pronto, time for King and Gallas to bow out.
This doesn't bode well for my trip to Loftus Road next weekend, but COYS!!

Even as a United fan i have got to admit Ashley Young is not doing himself any favours in the long term.

What a magnificent performance from Wigan and they kept passing the ball even from defence! Roberto Martinez is doing brilliantly there.

I don't even need to look at that link, because if it's him trying to be funny chances are it's not. But when he's just calling the game as he sees it I would definitely agree with you, Georgi. He's been a total revelation.

EDIT: I did watch it and I agree with him, except I wouldn't mince words like he did on the use of the word "cheat". If 95% of players are diving, not say 5%, it doesn't make them any less cheats.

The noteworthy thing about Ashley Young, for me, was how woefully bad his dives were not the dives themselves. I mean seriously    unconvincing. Except apparently to the referees in question.

A penalty is defined as a foul in the penalty area.

What a foul is should not vary whether its in the penalty area or on the halfway line.

90% of these penalties would be waved on by referees if they saw them in open play. I mean, from every goal kick there is contact between centre forwards and centre halves which is much nearer a foul than Ashley Youngs 2 dives. Then there is the shirt pulling at corners, this is a relatively new one, but hardly any penalties are given, yet it happens at pretty well EVERY corner.

Whilst there are these inconsistencies, its difficult for referees to apply laws in normal time, never mind when tossers like Young are attempting to fool them.

The only way to do this is :-

1. Refs be consistent.

2. Create a panel (of ex-pros) that look at incidents on a Monday morning and if they are convinced of a dive, then they must have power to act.

3. Powers need to be directed at the club and not the player. Ashley Young doesnt care if he gets fined £50,000. Its an irrelevance. You must dock the club points. Its the only thing they understand. Imagine if United were docked 2 points for that 1st dive against QPR, would Young have gone down the same way against Villa? No he wouldnt. Problem sorted !!!
