Bilbao were quality tonight - fanastic performance. One of the best I've seen by an opposing team at Old Trafford for a while.
Bilbao are a quality side, but it is a worrying sight for English football if the Fifth best team in Spain can so comprehensively beat arguably the best team in English Football. Last night result highlights the fact that Spanish football is years ahead of English Football, and highlights the fact that the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City have a lot of work to do to get to the levels of Barcelona and Real Madrid. A lot of people say the Premier League is the best League in the world but the results from the English teams in Europe this season have shown this is not the case and at the moment the top English teams are not able to compete with the cream of European football.
yeah i feel the same, more or less. though the competition needs to be upped in La Liga so that Barca/Real aren't the only 2 dominating teams anymore. But even regardless of this, i've seen middle tier spanish teams (like villareal, bilbao, occasionally osasuna, malaga, atletico) that play far more beautiful and creative football than chelsea, liverpool, arsenal and a host of other top tier english teams at the moment. the passing is more fluid, they take more risks. the epl, just like the english national team, is overrated.
