I think I'll keep the lists to 50, but thanks anyway for the effort.

When's everyone think that the lists should be due by? I was thinking either Christmas or New Years, so that it gives quite a while for people to watch whatever they want to. That might be too far in the distance, though, in which case the end of this month would suffice. Thoughts?

Mm, too bad, I for one will probably be getting a lot of new films for Christmas.
Probably wouldn't make a list anyway.

excellent, that's plenty of time to get caught up. also what if posters could choose 50, 75, or 100 films to list, whichever they feel is the most genuinely inclusive of their favorites.

Well, they can post them if they'd really like to, but I'll only be taking their top 50 because it contributes to the overall list.

For the sake of the list does it have to be ordered because that'd be very difficult? I've compiled an unordered version:

2001: A Space Odyssey
A Matter of Life and Death
Alphaville
Andrei Rublev
Annie Hall
The Apartment
Battleship Potemkin
Belle de Jour
The Big Lebowski
Blow-Up
Blue Velvet
Boogie Nights
The Celebration
Chinatown
Cinema Paradiso
City of God
Clueless
Deliverance
Dogville
Don't Look Now
Dracula (Horror of Dracula)
In the Loop
The Killing Fields
The Innocents
The Jerk
L'Atalante
L'Avventura
The Ladykillers (1955)
Let the Right One In
Lost in Translation
Magnolia
Mulholland Drive
My Left Foot
My Night at Maud's
No Country For Old Men
North by Northwest
Once Upon a Time in the West
Ordet
Raising Ariziona
Rome, Open City
Rushmore
Secrets and Lies
Spirit of the Beehive
There Will be Blood
Through a Glass Darkley
Together
Vertigo
What Time is it There?
The White Ribbon
Wild Strawberries

Yes, it has to be ordered. You've got almost 2 months to do so.
