Maybe we could build a fire, sing a couple of songs, huh? Why don't we try that?

Maybe I should give Aliens another chance. I remember being very disappointed with Aliens, even for an action movie. I feel the same way towards Aliens as I do towards Alien vs Predator (only not half as bad becaue Aliens only exploits one movie, whereas AvP exploits two). I guess it's just that I don't really care for James Cameron at all. Only Titanic ftw.

Aliens is one of those big ass blockbuster films that feels ok to enjoy imo but Alien was slightly better...reviews for Prometheus seem to back PBR's comments about the film and i can't fucking wait.

I liked Aliens, too. I thought it was the correct direction to go in after Alien. I'm pretty pumped for Prometheus now

Exactly. In fact other than the first and maybe the second Terminator movies I think Aliens is by far Cameron's best work.

See Titanic is exactly the type of movie that Cameron makes that annoys me. Aliens is a huge bit of fun. I don't feel its tone is like that of AvP at all because it has some actually non-flat characters who aren't just there as Alien fodder.

Yeah i'm not even gonna try and defend Titanic in any real way. All I can say is that I loved it as a kid (it was one of five or so VHS tapes I had at home, and no cable TV either, so you can imagine how often I saw it) and I can laugh my ass off with it cause I know it by heart. Until a few months ago I didn't care about Titanic at all anymore but got some newfound love for it after watching it in the cinema again.

one of those movies during which (on several occasions) i wanted to hurl my remote at the screen as hard as i could to make that shit stop. terrible movie. only good things were the opening sequence and the blazing l.a. heat throughout the film.

Maybe the second Terminator? That's still Cameron's best as far as I'm concerned.

I've always been partial to the first. Just love the aesthetic and the characters. The 2nd is really good too and I feel it's similar to Aliens in a lot of ways I think I just like the dynamic with Ripley more.

In high school, I had a teacher who played that movie for us. He already looks a little like Michael Douglas in the film, but on the day(s) we watched it, he wore the same outfit and everything.
