I finally saw A.I. and I can safely say that it's one of Spielberg's very best. Cried like the little bitch that I am like 5 or 8 times. All the sentiment felt completely earned and it begged to ask you questions that you would never want to face in your life. Take the last section:

If you only had one day to spend with your mother, knowing that after that you will never see her again, what would you do?

And they never left the house.

Heartfelt shit man, i have to drink these tears away.

I saw it when I was 11 and cried in my mum's arms afterwards

I did not like A.I. although I haven't seen it in a long time. Remember it is as much Kubrick's as it is Spielberg's.

First I saw it in 2D and then in 3D. Guess I'll do IMAX my next time. It's comic book geek heaven.

It's already surpassed TDK in worldwide box office. I'd like to see it topple Avatar too but I don't think it will. Then again I didn't imagine The Avengers would be so successful.

Yes it is. About as perfect as can be expected from a "mindless" summer entertainment work. I had so much fun in the theater. Incidentally, Michael Bay should really study this to see how to actually make a clusterfuck action sequence while still focusing on the characters in the crowd rather than making his scenes look like a bunch of random objects bumping together. That was the most impressive thing I saw because he never kept the focus off where it really mattered while still conveying something that seemed hectic and like an actual battle.
