This show is so fucking good. A Scandal In Belgravia (first ep of series 2) is one of the best episodes of television I have ever seen.

Loved series 1. Series 2 was pretty meh. Overall 'Scandal' was a good ep, but I could hardly stand that fucking phone password scene.

I feel the opposite, I felt season 2 was considerably stronger than season 1. I thought the 'Blind Banker' episode was lackluster. 'A Scandal' and 'The Reichenbach Fall' are some of the best things I've seen on television.

Series 3 starts in the UK on New Years day

There are 3x90 minute episodes that start 2 years after the 'Reichenbach Fall' episode

The BBC are also doing a 'mini episode' as a prequel to Series 3 that will be available on their online services from Christmas day onwards called 'Many Happy Returns'. There seems to be no further information on the content of this though.

I thought it was terrible. It put me off watching the rest of the episodes for months.

Damn, so glad to know I'm not the only one who hated it. I actually enjoyed the first one considerably, "A Study in Pink", but after watching "The Blind Banker" I became completely demotivated from watching other episodes. It was only until recently that I decided to give it another chance, at the persistence of a few close friends of mine.
