Man, oh maaan. Finished S3 a few days ago. I think I can truly put this on the same tier as The Wire and Six Feet Under. I remember I would always get upset seeing that C. Hall would lose to Cranston, but after seeing it, Cranston definitely deserves all the awards. Then on top of that, Aaron Paul is equally incredible.

Agreed. Both fantastic actors and Breaking Bad is one of the most intense and well-written shows I've ever seen. I feel like it's almost a little unfair to compare Cranston and C. Hall though because their roles are so different. I'm interested in seeing who the winners will be this year, for sure.

That's such a good scene, and great choice of music, too.

I'm about half way through season 3 (for the first time) - just finished "One Minute" in fact. The final scene to that episode has to be the most intense I've seen in not just television but in any film medium. I was literally on the verge of turning it off. Watching one of the Cousins slowly walking along [spoiler]with the ax in hand, while a wounded Hank struggles to put the bullet in the gun with his life on the line[spoiler] was nearly too intense to watch for me.

And just now remembering back to his character in Season One, I can't believe how much I have come to care about Hank. They've developed his character very nicely.

4 minutes of Gus dressing and undressing, and it was probably the best four minutes of the episode. They use him so fucking well.

That scene was fairly predictable and it still had my heart racing. And god is it ever brutal seeing Hank in his current state. The only detractors in the episode were the scenes with bitch-face Skyler.

The premise of this show is so fucking stupid. Because it IS stupid. And Cranston can't act at all.

The use of music in this show is incredible. Most recent example is Fever Ray's If I Had a Heart in the scene with Jesse in the most recent episode. The instrumental pulse behind his scream in the go-kart, and then the way the wordless vocals synced with his breathing back at his house were both incredible moments.

I really enjoyed the Klosterman, though I wish it weren't tied to the premise that BB>The Wire because nothing he said really has much to do with that. I do think the second one is more on the money about Walt's breaking bad, though, morally—it is a product of his circumstances. It provides fulfillment and control that he lacked in his diminishing position as an overqualified high school chem teacher who commands no respect. Ultimately I think the best view is a synthesis of the two, one that starts from the basis of the second one without its insistence that the drug business was always what Walt was looking for, because the emphasis on change in the first is right.

Yeah, I loved that small detail tossed in there.
