yeah, do it. very good, lots of sharp humour and the characters are crystalised well considering its brevity.

 Now that I think back, I can totally see why you in particular love this show. I think I'll have to rewatch the series soon.

Definitely do. I gave it a chance before when I was in high school but I think I was too "in" high school to really have the self-awareness to recognize myself in the characters, when now I see parts of me in almost all of them. I think my favorite episode might be The Garage Door. The use of "Freebird" is perfect given the theme of the episode (not to mention that's a song that can have a lot of impact when it's been years since you've heard it).

It's gotten to the point where right before I know something socially awful and awkward is going to happen I have to pause it and prepare myself for about 10 minutes of preemptive cringing before I can bear to watch it because I care about all of the characters way way way too much.

this was me for the early seasons of the American Office and it's been a long time since I saw a show that gave me that same relationship with characters. I guess Paul Feig also directed some Office episodes as well, which comes to no surprise based on what I've been hearing about F&G.

Has anyone seen Deadwood? My friend recommended I get into it saying it's some of the best writing he's seen, almost up there with the Wire even.

Yeah, I own it but have only seen about 4 episodes so far. It's a very good show.

well this is better than generation kill and yeah, the writing is fairly astounding. it's most obvious parallel to the wire is its scope as a period piece and it may take awhile to get used to the vernacular et al but its worth it and some of the soliloquy's will leave you gob smacked. flat out entertaining and who doesn't love high quality westerns?

I'm about 3/4 through Season 2 of Deadwood. The writing is indeed absolutely astounding. The dialogue may be the best written in any TV series I've seen period. Very Shakespearean.

On top of that, Ian McShane as Al Swearengen is certainly one of my favorite performances in both television or film.
