I hope that those Parents Television Council people succeed in getting the US Skins canceled (its lost pretty much all of its sponsors except for PETA), not because I care about their opinion of its content, but because its a terrible, poorly written, poorly acted show. It has the whole "promiscuity soundtracked by what's playing on the speakers in Urban Outfitters" thing down pat from the original show, but at least the original Skins was watchable, and the actors were actually decent (Dev Patel from "Slumdog Millionaire" was among the cast of the British version). I didn't care much either way for the original "Skins", but I never found it to be as terrible as this adaptation. US Skins seems extremely sleazy in its "teens being promiscuous" thing, which the UK version never really was.

Dev Patel wasn't even the best actor in the original series.

How much of it did you watch, Piper?

It's the American version. Of course they're going to miss the whole point.

I'm just citing the example of a popular, notable actor who was in the series. Never said he was the best. Overall, I found the whole cast to be alright.

I think i've watched only six episodes maybe? Don't know which ones or from which "generation" of the series, but I remember Dev Patel being in it.

If he was in all the episodes you watched then they were first generation episodes.

Yeah, my apologies. I wasn't meaning to sound contradictory.

Anybody watching the wonderful EPISODES ?

A joint Showtime/BBC production - airing in the US and UK at the same time. Brilliantly written and acted - Very funny and Matt LeBlanc is just perfection in it (playing himself)

Very bad language may upset some listeners (The C--T word has been used several times in the 1st three shows - Twice by the female lead), but if you like The Office, Extras etc, then this ones for you.

The Valentine's episode of Glee is some of the best TV I've seen in a while. Especially considering that Glee really hasn't been that good for the last year.

The episode of Glee I watched after the super bowl was one of the worst hours of TV i've ever watched.

Yeah it wasn't very good. Though it actually plays out well into Tuesday's episode.

OK I just watched the first season of the original UK Skins and I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

I could kiss you, Snoogans. Second season's probably my favourite of the two, although not by a lot. It's concerned more with themes of maturity, I guess. I won't spoil it if you do decide to watch it, though.

i know there was a thread for it before on old ddd but I can't find it here, but yeah almost done with Louie and it is a pretty awesome show. I knew it would be funny cuz Louis CK is a terrific comedian and writer, but there is some bizarre transcendental shit that surprises me. That Jesus episode alone was quite unexpected. Show's personal as fuck.

Louis "TV auteur" CK

did you watch his first show on HBO?

Been watching the US version of Shameless and it's great. Anyone else a fan? If it encourages you to watch (it should) I've seen Emmy Rossum naked a few times already and I'm like 4 episodes in.
