Caught up with this show and now I'm awaiting the new season like everyone else. Anybody else dig? At first I thought the structuring of flashbacks was an easy gimmick, but it does a good job of pacing each character's storyline. Anyway great setting and characters and 2 great finales so far.

Bechdel test be like wat?

I enjoyed Vee's addition in season 2; crazy eyes is solid gold

I enjoyed the first season a lot. I like the show's simple, direct, approach to almost everything, whether that simple directness has a light touch or an intense one. It also has one of the best title openings in that Regina and the montage always really get you ready for the emotional space that's about to be explored. Weirdly the closest thing I feel like I can compare it to in terms of overall tonal effect is Freaks & Geeks (which I love) although obviously it has entirely different aims in using that tone.

But all of this is without having seen season two. The finale to season one is one of my favorites ever.

haha, wow. I don't care enough to be wrathful but mostly I can't relate to that at all, though it's true that a lot of people seem to hate it. When I was binge watching the first season it drove my roommate at the time crazy and he insisted that if I wasn't going to skip the theme song I would have to watch the show with headphones. I really like it and it always makes me feel emotional before the show. Also because it's Netflix and the next episode starts playing it can make it difficult for me to say "yeah I'm going to stop now" when the theme song has already started to pull me in.

I'm not sure why I haven't watched seasons 2 or 3. I really enjoyed season 1 a lot. I've watched a lot of other great TV since then though, so maybe part of me is afraid that now my standards will be higher and I won't like it as much.

id say its pretty consistent and in some ways even better as it progresses. i don't really care for piper or alex at this point, its the other characters and ensemble cast that make this worthwhile
