My fiancee and I decided to watch the first two Christopher Nolan Batman movies before DK Rises comes out this week. In Batman Begins, there are a couple of scenes involving a young boy--played by Jack Gleeson, whom we now know as Joffrey! Sooooo strange to see him in a likable role!

This. It's strongly hinted at in the books.

I just finished reading A Feast for Crows. The negative reviews for this book are extremely unfair and misguided. I can understand how this would disappoint someone compared to the intensity and brilliance of the first three, but splitting the story up like this was absolutely necessary. I'm not sure how else Martin could have pulled it off.

Starting a Dance with Dragons immediately.

I was a little disappointed when I first read it, but I've liked it more and more with each revisit. There's a lot less action than in book 3 - though still a fair amount happens, contrary to many criticisms I've seen - but this allows more focus on character development. MINOR SPOILERS This is particularly true of the chapters for Cersei and Jaime. /MINOR SPOILERS

I've almost finished book 5 which had similar criticisms levelled at it and I'm struggling to see what the hell people's problems are. Plenty has happened and I'm sure more is yet to come. I think people are expecting constant out of nowhere twists like there were in the first three novels. I think this would get immensely wearing pretty quickly. You need relative calm before the storm, else the reader will become desensitized.

The only POV storyline that disappoints me is Bran's. I really hope that one gets better.

Other than Tyrion, my favorite character is probably the Hound. I love that scene -SPOILER ALERT -where Dondarrion's men lock him up and he is still talking shit and intimidating them, despite his condition. "I shit better men then you." I loved how he called out the outlaws on their hypocrisy. Sure he was a terrible person, but how where they any better? - SPOILER ALERT -

Also, totally agreed about your above post. He really give the story a helping hand.
