hey, thanks a bundle Dreww for making all those Directors threads here. If the tip hat or cheers emoticons were installed on this forum, you'd be getting one of those now.

I think the only director threads left to import are Orson Welles, Wes Anderson, Wim Wenders, Kevin Smith, Michelangelo Antonioni, Federico Fellini, Sam Peckinpah, Richard Linkletter, Ridley Scott and Hayao Miyazaki.

I'll do some of the minor ones, like John Hughes and Rob Reiner later, but you can to the new tiers for em.

After that we should get to the directors without threads. Like Howard Hawks

I like to call them "pleasant". And I think Shane Meadows deserves his own thread because it would inspire people to watch his movies like a lot of threads on here have done for other directors/members.

yeah i said this in the literature section but I definitely think there should be a recommended first film for each director. This also allows for some discussion in each thread.

It seems like, if you go to the bottom of the third page, there are a bunch of failed Kenji Mizoguchi threads. I'll bring this up to the admins.

In the meantime I'll make the Lumet, and wanta you can PM me the Mizoguchi post and I'll put it up.

lmao yeah i tried many times. I was wondering if it had anything to do with like because it was in japanese and the coding on that kind of text messes with the system. Where are you guys copying and pasting your filmographies?

Yeah that may be it because the anime list wouldn't copy properly either. I get filmographies from different places. Piper found an English-ized list of Kurosawa, so you could probably find or create one for Mizoguchi. Or if you don't want to do it I can.
