In Encounters at the End of the World, the scene with journeyman plumber David Pacheco- he of the royal Aztec bloodline- is just brilliant.

i don't necessarily doubt the guy's claim but i've noticed that a lot of central americans claim to be of aztec lineage when in fact it's highly unlikely - the aztecs/mexica were always minority group albeit a very powerful one.

btw my favorite interview is the one with the serbian (i think) philosopher, but yeah they're all interesting.

I really need to see a Herzog film, especially now that I know that the vast majority of mainstream American filmgoers fucking despise him now that they know who he is. That's always a good sign if you ask me.

just watched Nosferatu - Phantom der Nacht

Awesome. Of course it's not as great as Murnau's film, but it's a wonderful remake with that typical unconcerned-about-anything Herzog touch. Love it. Also it's fun to see two German greats, Bruno Ganz and Klaus Kisnki, play alongside one another like this. Any other movies they are both in?

so yeah, Herzog is becoming more and more a favourite. Must get to his doco's sometime soon.
