What about Michael Clarke Duncan as John Coffey?

As top 50? wouldn't think... it's good, but seems a bit high doesn't it? Well, if people otherwise agree...

Maybe not top 50, but if you're going to expand the list to 100 I think you should definitely consider it. You should also consider Sam Rockwell's performance in Moon.

When I said I'd put Gump above Silence, I meant above American Beauty. I definitely think you should consider that.

Oscar winners being loved... that's my point. Just wanting to point that out.

I find the fact interesting actually. People use to be against Oscars, in every category, so it was a surprise for me. Especially with cases like Sean Penn in River, Jamie Foxx and Whitaker. I guess it would not be the same with the Actresses.

Dunno bout Gump above Beauty... That may very well be because Beauty is one of my all time favorite performances (well, more so than Gump)... but honestly i think he does most thinsg on par with Hanks in that role... His body language, amazing use of face mimic, and of course the whole tranformation thing.. But, again, if people over-all agree...

It's not about talking shit... we all know he was fantastic, but I had never seen people praising that performance on this forum. That's the surprise, but he did a great job... I really liked him.

I think he placed second in the 00s Best Actor winners poll, but that was more or less a blowout by DDL.

He didn't get any. It was DDL (24) followed by Denzel (4) and Whitaker (3).

I'm not a big fan of the film itself but Whittaker is very good in Last King Of Scotland. One of the most surprising performances I've seen.
