Then how can you fully enjoy Star Wars?

I don't enjoy Star Wars.

You know, it always comes off as a shock to me when I hear that someone doesn't enjoy Star Wars, the originals at least. I'd like to hear why you don't enjoy them, if you don't mind.

I used to enjoy them as a kid, but I was never fanatical about them like my friends and cousins were, and over the years my enjoyment has diminished. I'm not sure why, specifically, I don't enjoy them as much any more other than I think they're lame, I think the dialogue isn't very good, and I don't think the acting is very good. I also don't like how Lucas has added CGI to them, which makes them look even more lame to me because it doesn't look very convincing. I imagine you'll think this is strange because the original puppets didn't look very convincing either, but I've always felt that puppets and miniatures and the like add a certain charm to a film and when that's replaced with sub-par CGI (Seriously, the guy owns ILM, how did he manage to fuck the CGI up?) it takes the charm away and makes it look cheap.

Eh, I can take that. Even for me there's times where I can get burnt out on Star Wars, but it's only a small break every once and a while. My best friend and I practically grew up on it together, so I can't really get tired of it completely.

But oh well, at least you don't think that it's worse than fucking Battlefield Earth.

I think the CGI in the later Star Wars films in itself looks incredibly impressive, but I certainly won't argue that it doesn't have the same charm. I don't feel the same magic I feel watching the originals- which I haven't actually seen for a couple of years (despite being a massive Star Wars fan for a time), so I'm definitely looking forward to rewatching them after I've seen some other stuff.
At any rate, ILM know how to do things right.

I thought the CGI in Revenge Of The Sith was especially impressive.

Yes, Yoda was actually watchable in that one.

Yoda's fight with Dooku in Attack Of The Clones is one of the most unintentionally hilarious things I've ever seen.

That got a big laugh in my theater when Yoda revealed his lightsaber.

Tom Cruise is another one that comes to mind, even though I absolutely love the Last Samurai.
