They're all racist. What I personally find repelling about SLJ are the moives that he makes. He could do good movies but he doesn't.

Samuel L Jackson is awesome and I enjoy watching him more than most actors, but I agree that the dude needs to stop being in so many shitty films. He seems like the kind of guy who picks his roles because he loves acting rather than picking the best films.

Hey, the topic is good actors you hate, its possibly to acknowledge a guy's talents but not like watching them for some reason. Me, I don't care much for Dustin Hoffman, but he's by all account one of the great American actors. I've also never been as big on Freeman as many, like his movies, just don't feel much for him usually.

I guess a better title for this would be "Famous Actors You Hate"

edit - But not every famous actor can really be considered good, now that I think about it.

I think that's what does it for me. The movies I don't like and his performances in them far outweigh the movies I do like him in.

Sean Penn most definitely. When I saw Milk my reaction wasn't "damn this is a good performance" as much as "oh fuck he's getting an award for this".

You should rename the title of this thread to actors that disappoint you. I think Denzel is a good actor, he just seems to play the same character over and over again.

I can't find a way to hate Sean Penn, he's an awesome actor and Milk is a great performance. Mickey was robbed, that's true (so was Farrell)... but Milk is still amazing. And besides Milk, the man has Dead Man Walking, Mystic River, I Am Sam, Sweet and Lowdown, Carlito's Way... good stuff.

I admit Penn is a great actor, and was great in Mystic River (I haven't seen Milk, but he looks fantastic in that as well) but I never like I Am Sam or Dead Man Walking, even if his performance was good (I didn't think the I Am Sam performance was that great anyway). True he's a fantastic actor, but he's just not very appealing to me, and his catalogue of good films isn't that large.

SLJ is more of a great presence than a great actor. I'm not going to watch a film because his name is on it, but it's always nice when he turns up in a supporting role.
