That has been considered, and All Along The Watchtower was ahead of Stairway on the alternate list. This list hasn't been edited in seven years, and Lew probably doesn't have any intention of editing it so discussion in this thread is futile.

Child in Time definitely needs a raise. I thing it's Ritchie's greatest masterpiece after "Highway Star".

Child In Time is such a frightening solo. Blistering stuff.

Have you heard the solo in "A Light In The Black"? I think it might honestly be my favorite solo from Ritchie in the studio.

I don't think I have but I will most certainly give it a look. "Child in Time's" solo gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. It's just so intense :metal:

Each of these songs also contain two of my three favorite organ solos (the third being Tarot Woman also off of Rainbow Rising) which make their guitar solos sound even sweeter.
