Hmmm, I think I Feel Fine is just as monumental a riff as Day Tripper.
I much prefer DT as a song though.

... another wonderful riff ... Take care

Is this list just based on how recognizeable the riffs are? If so, I'd move up Sweet Child O'Mine.

As much as I love "Hysteria", this is hilarious.

What about Dr. Feelgood? One of the most recognizable 80's metal riffs.

Also...

I thought Highway To Hell was going to come top 20 at least and I don't even see it on top 100! It's easily one of the most recognizable riffs of all rock history, almost every rocker on the planet can tell it's Highway to Hell just by the first chord when they hear it. IMO Highway to Hell < Back in Black < Thunderstruck < You Shook Me < Hells Bells

You know who I hate? People who confuse simple and infectious riffs with "dumb" riffs. Going by that logic every riff on this list is a dumb riff. Well christ, what in the fuck is a SMART riff? Something from Dream Theater?

Fuck smart riffs.

Oh hey, there is a Dream Theater riff on the list, can you kindly remove it? I'm sure that was a mistake.

The riff of "Constant Motion" is pretty damn good, I know you know it too!

But yes, I agree. Minimalistic =/= Bad
