In terms of guitar performance, Wish You Were Here isn't really anything special. I think Atom Heart Mother could be on here, along with maybe Have A Cigar.

I've heard you call him that before, but is there any actual proof he spliced together different solos, rather than playing a few solos and picking out the best bits for the final version.

More to the point, does it actually matter? Using the studio to one's advantage to create excellent music is hardly a negative thing.

I suggest you use the letters IMO when making that solo list....for example, my fave solo of his along with CN is easily High Hopes.....Atom heart mother iirc also had a solo i really like . ...
