I'll add FS Rothers list, it's chronological, organized and seems enough. If everyone is in agreement ? Id trust FS getting it right with this of all things.

Also, See if you can get your others upto 15-20 songs, which is usually best. I like your list for zappa, but surely there can be much more. good attempts though, very solid :cheers:

agreed my friend... I believe some other words might be "unexpected" or "wow" and "this was 1972 ???" ... nothing like a grand piano intro accompanied by a whispering melodic lead guitar with volume swells etc etc and then ......... (do you suppose besides Spectrum Jeff Beck may have heard some of this material as well).....Take care

Your top 2 for Rush are absolutely perfect. Should be set in stone.

Actually I'd probably put 2112 at #1. So epic, so many different killer riffs and solos.

I believe that slow, open solo Lifeson plays in La Villa Strangiato is his best. The way he builds up the intensity into this manic climax, then straight into the palm-muted stuff, awesome......I'm gonna go listen to that now

Man, it's amazing how much he resembles Jimmy Page most of the time, with his licks, especially the soloing in Working Man.

I still say 2112 is #1.
Maybe I'm biased but there's just too much killer shit going on in that song.

the Dave Mustaine list ought to have My Last Words and The Skull Beneath The Skin. The closing solo of the former is by far the greatest lead Mustaine had ever recorded.

In regards to Alex, his solo to Analog Kid fucking shreds! (probably not top 10 though).
