In fact, my whole argument has been based on refuting the main statement of that list

Rock driven guitar is dead.

Maybe I am wrong and all of you believe that rock guitar is alive

If that is true,

all I am asking is to reflect that on the list

and add Frusciante, White, Cobain, Radiohead and Pearl Jam into the top 100.

Is that to much to ask?

What? To tell you the truth that is my ultimate goal: Beck = Cobain.

I know it will take a lot of time

but I truly think that is the right path for the list.

De constructing an assumed equation of fact in a seemingly but unrelated string of "proven assumptions" ... Take care

I have no difficulty in you posting any opinion you wish my friend and they are all valid for every poster and you have contributed to many lively debates and sometimes many a smile .... however as one of the editors of the list, I want to point out at no time did any of the editors including myself ever think for one moment or suggest the statements that you are attributing to us ... I simply reject the premise you are moving forward with and I am stating it is not correct ... Take care

To me actions speaks louder than words. If there is almost no guitarists from the 90´s and 00´s in the top 100, to me that means that for the list rock guitar is dead and has been for almost two decades.

FFS! More than 10% of the top 100 are guitarists with the vast majority of their material from the 90s and 00s. There are also many more guitarists who span the decades still releasing new, fresh, innovative, exciting rock guitar music. Jeff Beck, Steve Hackett, Ritchie Blackmore, Robert Fripp, Steve Howe, Steve Morse, Phil Keaggy, Danny Gatton, Jan Akkerman, Alex Lifeson, Adrian Belew etc are still doing new, interesting things with the guitar in a rock setting. In fact some of my favourite albums by these artists were released in the 90s and 00s, albums that have far more original guitar playing on them than any of your pet favourite throwback guitarists.

And I am just saying that IMO the current list reflects that rock guitar is and has been dead for 20+ years.

I am sure that is not the intention of you or the other editors, so I am asking to set the record straight and add some 90´s and 00´s guitarists to the top 100.

I don´t know if that is truth, but if it is, I want a higher percentage. 40% would be great, after all, those 2 decades represents 40% of rock guitar history.

While you're pulling quotas out of your arse, might I suggest we start including more African, Middle Eastern, Latin American, East Asian etc guitarists. After all, more than 1% of the worlds guitarists are from countries outside of Europe and North America.

When did I suggest using quotas? I merely pointed out that your suggestion there were no 90s or 00s - a silly notion, it must be reiterated - in the top 100 was an obviously false one.

Are you for real or are you simply trolling? Cobain does not belong anywhere near the top 200 of any list on this forum. He is a nobody in guitar terms, nothing, insignificant little speck. And just mentioning his name alongside Beck is a crime againts humanity. You've gone too far this time. And thats the last I respond to any of your posts beacuse they are mostly insane nonsense which you cant back up and never do and I cant figure out if you are trolling or are simply insane. I do give you one thing though, you add to the entertainment value around here, you and the other fruitcake, taro. Though it does get tiring when you push it too far so do us all a favour and keep it subtle. :tiphat:

I have give tons. There is a thread dedicated to Cobain. If you look at it, it has a lot more posts than the Jeff Beck thread.

Thats not a sign of greatness and the only reason there are so many is that you refuse to listen the all the reasonable arguments that were given to you and continued to ramble about how distinctive Cobain is and how he's the greatest guitar player of the last twenty years.
