aw fuck Emile Hirsch is in that one? And I was so looking forward to it... Anyway, I still am cause I'm a fan of Friedkin and even though Bug sucked, it did feature Michael Shannon in one hell of an awesome role.

Going to see Cosmopolis on Wednesday, back to back with Prometheus! Can't wait!

Here's a city listing of the one night only screening of Shut Up and Play the Hits, the LCD Soundsystem documentary. So if you're a fan:

I hate these title changes...Cogan's Trade was the original title i think. But from what i've seen it does look quite good.
Lawless a.k.a. wettest county... is another one i'm really interested in watching.

most anticipated:

1 django unchained -- rewatched inglourious basterds yesterday, and apparently there's a teaser trailer for the US release of prometheus
2 the hobbit -- started the trilogy again this morning
3 prometheus -- about to buy imax 3D ticket for next saturday!
4 the master
5 the dark knight rises
6 skyfall -- looks slick and stylish; hopefully interesting like casino royale
7 seven psychopaths -- once i see a trailer this will go up probably
8 moonrise kingdom -- probably going tomorrow
9 amour
10 cosmopolis
11 brave
12 the bourne legacy
13 mud
14 killing them softly
15 the great gatsby -- honestly i'm intrigued now, and i'm warming up to it. i'd still see it anyways, because it's one of my favorite books and i didn't like the original.

others:

a think the new refn-gosling film will come out this year
and the new malick--i just don't know enough about it yet to get excited
lawless
the amazing spiderman

definitely more excited then last year when i didn't know what was ahead, but still turned out to be really good.

In my opinion The Avengers was not that much different from Transformers.

Comparing a movie to Transformers should be banned in this forum, unless you can confirm that the movie was in fact shot and edited by ADHD afflicted monkeys.

You can't really blame the editors. They just do what Bay tells them to do.

Ok, then Michael Bay is an ADHD afflicted monkey.

But seriously, the "at least it's a mindless Hollywood movie that doesn't try to be profound" excuse doesn't fly, any attempt to use this defense should be shot down immediately.

That wasn't the problem with Transformers, with the exception of the impressive visual effects, it is a flat out horribly made, structureless mess of a movie, that was it's problem.
