It's summer time, which means there's a lot of free time for most, which means a lot of movie watching gets done.

Here you just list a good pairing of movies you think would be a good experience watching back to back (aka double features). Most of the time it's a past and present thing but you can decide your own way of linking 2 movies together.

I just got done watching Michael Mann's Thief and found a lot of similarities from it to Refn's Drive, which is probably an obvious observation but whatevs.

So yeah: Thief (1981) / Drive (2011)

Refn said at the time that Thief was a big influence on Drive.

Heat (1995) / The Dark Knight (2008)

The Silence of the Lambs (1992) / Zodiac (2007)

Shane (1953) / Drive (2011)

Even more similarities, imo.

High Noon (1952) / Rio Bravo (1959)

A bit obvious, as Rio Bravo was conceived as a rebuttal to High Noon.

The Exorcist (1973) / Ghostbusters (1984)

PBR, you just won the thread

Btw, your comparing of Bigger than Life with American Beauty has piqued my interest in seeing the former significantly.
