He is probably one of the top 3 most popular artists of the year, what does DDD think about him?

I had no idea "Somebody That I Used to Know" had over 180 MILLION views. I mean, I knew it was a big hit and all, but wow.

Probably all viewed by Australians, too.

More hot than not, but not really that hot either. Went with hot because I don't hate him/them?

I know that I should, but I can't for the life of me remember that song or this artist (and I don't have headphones to listen to it).

i said not because i dont like it but they're definitely popular so they are hot there. one of my buddies that has good taste in music said the every song on the album was great and i already knew that one wasnt but i gave it a shot anyway. didn't like it at all.

i like it. at least the chorus. but its growing old faster than a really good song should. i place it in the "Adele tier". which means, i think its a quality song but not a great one and i probably won't listen to it again on my own.

oddly enough, my friend told me to listen to it a few months ago and i had no idea it was a big hit or anything and my reply was simply "pretty cool". even though i mildly enjoyed it, i still can't believe its that big of a hit. (i had the same experience with that "Hey There Delilah" song and also the noose around your neck song by Mumford & Sons. both enjoyable upon first listen, both bigger hits than they should have been, both grew old quick, and unfortunately now both hated more than they should be imo). i think i'll name this the "Save Tonight by Eagle Eye Cherry" phenomenon.

I'm going with not because the radio is always on at work.

i cant see what's so "terrible" about it, perhaps its overplayed and overrated i dont know, there's worse rubbish out than this, i can see how its popular but surprised it went to no1 in the US.

I like the song, and his album's OK. Still, he's the last choice I would have had for an artist to break out of alternative radio and make the pop charts.

Then again, it seems like "Midnight City" by M83 and "Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men are also getting pop radio airplay. Don't know what to make of that.

It's a fairly decent album; 'Heart's a Mess' from his previous album is brilliant. I've said it before - if he stops writing 80's inspired songs with cheesy lyrics then he might end up being a great artist, as his music production skills are a marvel to behold. This speaks for itself:

That was neat, and I just listened the pop song everyone is talking about and it's a nice song. It has a pretty melody and is unoffensive. I don't listen to the radio, but I see how it could get old, but it's better than most of what I hear whenever the radio comes on.
