You don't think Ride The Lightning and Orion are close to each other as Metallica classics?

Initially was going to pick Black Sabbath. You have one of their top five tracks and even though Children of the Grave is one of their weaker classic tracks.

Disagree with you on Children of the Grave. It's so menacing. For a weaker classic track, look no further than Iron Man.

I much prefer Iron Man to Children of the Grave (which to be fair I still like). But of their recognized greatest songs its the weak sister to me.

:ugh:
Iron Man has become too cliched, it's nearly reached Stairway To Heaven-level for God's sake...
Still a great song no matter what, it just got forced down everyone's throats too much.

Children Of The Grave is a rightfully deserved classic and one of the very earliest examples of what would eventually become thrash metal.

How can such a huge Black Sabbath fan be so wrong about this? Children of the Grave is the best track on Masters of Reality and in their top 5 overall.

I agree that Children of the Grave >>> Iron Man. I don't understand how anyone can think the opposite.

Master of Reality. In any case After Forever, Lord of this World, Sweet Leaf, Into the Void, and Solitude are all better in my view. Damn what a great album when that's the 6th best track to me.

I really wouldn't call Children of the Grave thrash (at best it's proto-thrash but I wouldn't even call it that). I'd say Symptom of the Universe is the first time they really went into something that could be called thrash.

Better use and development of the key riff. The bridge and outro are awesome (especially the way the outro rather abruptly ends after building all that energy). The structure is more unconventional and interesting.
