It is almost inconceivable to me that "To Mega Therion" was recorded in 1985...it sounds 10 years ahead of it's time. NOBODY else was that heavy at the time, at least nobody I know off-hand.

Morbid Tales and Into The Pandemonium are epic as well.

Haven't heard too many of these but know that I can't stand Voivod.

I've heard a little from most of these but not much. The only artists here Im actually familiar with are kreator and sepultura, when i listened to em about 4 years back.

Didn't you say you were familiar with Celtic Frost? :eh:

Is it the incomprehensible vocals? That 'grunting' vocal style is very prevalent in thrash. Celtic Frost are even WORSE as far as vocals go (but better musically, imo).

Also, which album(s) did you listen to? War And Pain fuckin' kills....

Voivod doesn't really have 'grunting' vocals...

Well they do on their first album (War And Pain), which is the only one I've heard as of now.

And seriously, NOBODY voted for Exodus?
