I've always enjoyed Music Polls section, many of the polls just repeat the same formula all over again which is not cool. (And then there is Bruce and his loved polls)

A poll about listening habits would be interesting.

Yeah, album listening vs singles/mixes/compilations might be very interesting. I've definitely veered from the former to the latter.

The Who, of course. To include Goats Head Soup but not The Who Sell Out is extremely wrong.

Anyway, so much variety in The Who's run. An amazing single album, an amazing live album, plus two amazing double albums. And The Who Sell Out should be listed. It's... amazing.

Ok not really but I like both, fuck you guys.

I like The Clash and Deep Purple, too. But I have only two Purple albums and every Clash album except for Cut the Crap.

Unacceptable, especially considering the "i" is so far away from the "o" on a qwerty keyboard.

Bob Dylan no doubt. John Wesley Harding is definitely good enough to be included with those.

This would actually be a good policy.

If I were to rank each artist by the combination of albums you've designate it would look something like this:

1. Zeppelin
2. Metallica
3. Maiden
4. Purple
5. Dylan
6. Beatles
7. Queen
8. Who
9. Stones

I'm not sure I'd rank any of these runs as contenders for my favourites. Led Zeppelin was my immediate thought, but I don't rate Physical Graffiti. Iron Maiden's run is impressive but I can't remember much of Killers, despite having heard it several times, and Piece of Mind and Powerslave leave me pretty cold beyond a few standout tracks on each. Metallica's first four albums are all good, but ...And Justice is much weaker than the previous three.

Having said that very few of even my favourite bands have runs of 4 or more albums where one or more albums aren't considerably weaker than the others. The only bands I can think of off the top of my head are Marillion and Pendragon. Other acts I can think of are Black Sabbath's first 4, Ozzy's first 4 solo albums - though this is very much my personal taste and Dire Straits' first 5.

Include The Who Sell Out, as you should, and The Who's run is seven albums worth.

The Who By Numbers is pretty great, too.
