YES. That's exactly the kind of psychedelia that I like. That was excellent all around.

Everyone should check out Messy Century by Mountaineers. I've always thought it sounded like Magical Mystery Tour mixed with Beck's latter day material.

You should take a look at the Greatest Psychedelic Albums thread. Rick (the editor) got me into so much of this underground experimental stuff. There's a lot of shit on there I know you'd love.

I thought the melody was awesome. But to each their own.

If you like the instrumental side of psychedelic rock, then you need this in your life...

TELL ME THAT GUITAR SOLO ISN'T MIND-BLOWING!!!
I honestly dont know how this stuff gets so overlooked in the grand scheme of things...

I thought you said that was an instrumental. The vocals on there reminded me of Yoko.

Well it's like 90% instrumental.

God don't ruin it by comparing her to Yoko! :ugh:

I don't know if it fits, but anyway:

(1:37) One of the greatest things in rock.

Great links! Always great have more discussion here.

These guys were really more progressive than psychedelic, but they are absolutely incredible...

With the incredible talents Vincent Crane on keys and Carl Palmer on drums.

^That is some great stuff, LZ. Thanks a lot for sharing. So many of those 60's underground bands were so ahead of their time.

Now for this...

First metal song? Wouldn't be a stretch to say so, but the psych elements are still there.

That video is 4 minutes long and the original song is like 16 minutes or something.

No no, you guys are thinking of "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", their only big hit song. It was 17 minutes long.

Personally I like "Iron Butterfly Theme" even better...

:durr: me, yeah, that was stupid. Shows what one big hit does, i just assumed it was the single version of that song. Bleh.
