Loving the new Why? track :)

Oh yeah, I really like it too. "Alopecia" is one of my favorite albums, but I never really warmed up to their last one (it has some good songs on it - namely "January Twenty Something", but it was kind of a letdown). This song sounds alot more in step with "Alopecia"-type stuff. Excited to hear the rest of the EP and the new album they're working on.

Also, the new Pop Etc album is actually worse than Pitchfork says it is. In fact, its probably the worst album of the year - a year when The Offspring actually managed to release the worst album of their career. I would have no problem with the dramatic change in sound from Big Echo if it was executed properly. This was not.

Turns out Geddy Lee of Rush is a big Fleet Foxes fan.

But you guys probably knew that already :(

EDIT - Also from the article

To me, Radiohead carried on the tradition of bands like Yes. They are always adventurous and challenging and yet they have remained ahead of the game, really. I love the way they blend old and new…including contemporary beats and instrumentation. But again, and like Yes and Genesis, they still have great songs at the heart of it. Especially on OK Computer, which completely fired me up and gave me hope for the future. Great music in every sense of the word.

Fleet Foxes thing makes sense to me. Three-part-or-more vocal harmonies used to be much more prevalent in pop music. So it makes sense that the classic rockers would all love a band like the fleet foxes

Recently I've actually been looking for more music that uses a lot of 3 part + vocal harmony

Yeah, it's brilliant. It's huge here, but I'm pretty sure it's unheard of elsewhere. Hoping more people give it a listen.

Thats pretty cool, reminds me a bit of Antlers. Related, is anyone looking forward to the new ep from them? That song they've got out is great.

Same here. I'm sure Chri55y Baby will go on to do some sick stuff, but JR seemed to provide a much needed balance to the mix. I don't know man, pretty gutting but I'm glad I got to see them play my favorite show of 2011.
