We're not doing the tiers by opinion, its done by a criteria.

However, your personal lists are fine.

I don't know or care about tiers.

Wait a second...Darkshines?

Oh, that makes sense. Welcome back, Sara! How have you been?

I went into "New User Explanation Mode" there. Silly me. A few people changed their names in the move so i've been wondering why some random new posters are acting like they've been here forever (i've gotten most of the new names down, though).

Yeah, some users think the tier is my person list, but it isn't. Mine would look something like:
1. Absolution
2. Origin of Symmetry
3. Black Holes & Revelations
4. Resistance
5. Showbiz

Tis me indeed, hello. But my point is I don't even know what these "tiers" you keep talking about are. They have been in existance for some while now, I know that much, but since I haven't really posted in quite some time on DDD and hardly ever looked at any of the fav artist threads I haven't a clue what it's all about.

A tier is the thing in the first post. Dreww created them for the Directors thread last year and they've since been imported to here and comedy. Favorite Artists doesn't have the "red+italics" one that the Directors thread has, but the "Recommended First Listen" is essentially a version of the "red-italics". Dreww's sticky post in the Directors forum should fill some holes in on what the tiers are.

wow, I thought I was the only one that would put Showbiz above Absolution, thought I'm now going to assume that Mitch would as well.

1. Showbiz
2. Origin of Symmetry
3. Absolution
4. Black Holes and Revelations
5. The Resistance

1-4 are all really close to each other. Showbiz is probably my favorite Muse song.

Did people turn on Black Holes and Revelations? I remember when it came out, it was kind of a big deal. I don't think Absolution is clearly better.

BH+R is such a mixed bag. It has some of my favorite Muse songs, and then it has Soldiers Poem, Assassin, Exo-Politics, and Hoodoo.

I dunno, I think it just got more media attention than the others...I think the opinion was always pretty mixed.

By comparrison I found that Resistance was an instant mistake when I first heard it but after listening to it backwards and then a couple more times (with a few weeks/months inbetween) it really grew on me.

BHAR just wore itself out I think.
