Anybody heard the side project Especially Likely Sloth from the bassist of Agalloch (Jason William Walton)? Really groundbreaking stuff. It's like Agalloch but a little more uptempo and a lot heavier. If you're a fan of Agalloch, especially their faster songs, you need to check this out.

I think I've mentioned these guys before, but if any of you are into Thrash, Hexen is the best modern Thrash band out there (imo). The riffing on this album is crazy good and the solos are almost as ridiculous as the cover:

Drums are way too loud in the mix, imo.

Are there any quality post 2000 heavy metal bands ? I mean yeah there's a lot of good metal in other fields, but just good old heavy metal, similar to the likes of Priest or Maiden or Diamond Head ?

Funny you should mention that Yousha, I just came here to post this video:

The album is pretty badass, particularly the riffs, and I'm really digging the female vocals.

Two awesome metal albums I've found recently, check them out dudes:

Giant Squid - The Ichthyologist Amazing male/female singing over brilliant atmospheric/progressive sludge--Plus, now with more saxophone!

Todtgelichter - Angst A German progressive black metal act with a sick vocalist, probably the best black metal album I've heard in quite a few months.

That's pretty cool. Do you have the full album?

Edit: To Joe.
